You know things are getting out of hand when a CW show is running neck and neck with an HBO show for shockingness. And while Ringer can't match Game of Thrones for explicitness, it's certainly not falling short when it comes to over-the-top plot twists. Secret lesbian love affairs, wacky hostage situations, crack whore overdoses, this episode of Ringer had it all. And while the episode was filled with its share of ridiculousness, from Catherine's weepy, distraught hostage taker, to the dumb-as-rocks FBI agents checking up on the hostages and noticing nothing amiss (needless to say, the believability ratio was not necessarily off the charts), it was still a fun watch. With the soapiness factor at 11 for this episdoe, let's hope the CW sees the potential here and gives Ringer a second season renewal.

As hard as this show is to believe, I find myself enjoying it in spite of myself. Too bad it doesn't look like the CW is likely to renew it.
